New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - San Jose Sharks rookie forward Tomas Hertl was named the NHLs First Star for the second full week of the 2013-14 season. Hertl, a 19-year-old native of the Czech Republic, set the league on its ear last week, totaling an NHL-best five goals in only three games for the unbeaten Bay Area club. He picked up four of those in a 9-2 victory over the Rangers on Oct. 8, including a between-the-legs, breakaway shot for his final tally of the contest which drew widespread reaction. He hit in the indoor cage and did some running on the field Friday. Choo said there were no problems when he hit, but said he continued to feel pain in the heel when he ran. Still, Choo believes the progress hes made from when the injury first happened should keep him from needing to be out for 15 days.
