I'm working on a cover of Emily, but I have to keep recording it again and again to pinpoint the spots where I forget the chords...

Here's my cover of an artist named Robyn.
The song is called Hang With Me and is sung by my classmate Anna. :)

ps. I'd love to hear music from both of you, Queenofnerds and doublewuzzy!

Rough copy of Emily... I still have memory slips and also have been listening to the old version so some old words sneak in there. Also the keyboard volume is too low. I want to redo it when I have access to a real piano and a mic, perhaps... and maybe get my sister to do backing vocals (since her name is Emily).

I haven't actually transcribed Emily, but I know the chords, so I tried to do it as a cover of a Joanna Newsom song in the style of Joanna Newsom - there are some quotes of Only Skin, Sawdust and Diamonds, and In California in there (at least rhythmic motives taken from those songs).

I like it a lot, but you already know that. I'm glad you decided to post it. Take a listen, y'all.

doublewuzzy, I'm really impressed with your voice O__O

really impressed... O__O

Would you like to do a collaboration with me? I have a piano version of Sawdust & Diamonds on which I would like somebody to sing. Will you do that? :)

Sweden :)
You're right that we don't live close to each other, so I thought we could do it like this:

1) The hostfamily with whom I live in has a great electric piano that can record piano in high quality. I played my own version of Sawdust & Diamonds (which I like a lot) and exported it. So here I have a piece of music that's just piano.

2) I'll send the file to you and you might sing the lyrics. How was it that you recorded Emily? With a camera? Anyway, any recording technique will do. Like: a video in which you sing S&D while listening to the file that I send you through your headphones. This file you could send back to me.

3) In a studio I will edit the file with your voice with some reverb, equalizers, etc. Then I'll export your voice with the pianofile into one song.

4) Then we think of a video which might accompany the music on youtube, and forth this will be known as the first Milky-Moon-Musiccollaboration. :notworthy: :)

what do you think?

I used GarageBand. If I can get your file into Audacity - which should be easy - I can just sing along with it. We shall see what happens!

For shits and giggles... I was messing around last Fall and recorded a rough draft of the end of Have One On Me too, so here it is.

That part of the song is so... fun... I wish I had a voice!

And here is why I should never be allowed to use FL Studios.

Oh... Um, I've never really shared my harp music with anyone before so here goes nothing... This was a random improv... Some of the strings were not tuned.
