oh my! that is so sweet, but I can't read chords. I am managing to play something close to what she plays, so that counts for something.
plus, all of the instruments in my house are horribly out of tune.
but thanks, wuzz.

That's why I suggested the options of notes versus chords - chords being the name of the chord, not the notes.

Do you know the names of the notes on your instrument? Like, do they show the name on each little metal spoon thingy?

it came with a little index card thing.
it says they are as follows-

C S F# D B G A C E G B D

Okay, I think I've come up with a way to "tab" it though it might be really ridiculous. I'm assuming the second letter is supposed to be an A and not an S. It looks like yours is pretty tiny, which will limit what you can do. Now comes a few minutes of pause while I figure out if it is doable...

...okay. All the notes you'd need are there, but not in the right register, so it wouldn't be a perfect transcription - but then again, who cares? As far as making a tab goes, I'm going to make a split between the G and the A, since that's middle of the instrument, and say that C A F# D B G is LEFT (L) and A C E G B D is RIGHT (R). I'm going to turn the note names into numbers starting from the center and going out, i.e. the "1s" are right in the middle and the "6s" are on the ends:
C = L6
A = L5
F# = L4
D = L3
B = L2
G = L1
(midline of the instrument)
A = R1
C = R2
E = R3
G = R4
B = R5
D = R6

It'll all sound kind of off since you are limited in pitch range (you can't go as high and low as a harp can).

The main verse parts (Erin, Erin, Erin across America...) would look like this:
L1 L2 L3 L4 L1 L2 L3 L4
R2 R3 R4 R5 R2 R3 R4 R5

Pretty simple (though it's probably not that easy since you have to play one thumb over and over...)!

The opening bit-slash-the chunks in between the verses:
L2 L3 L4 L5 L2 L3 L4 L5
R3 R5 R3 R6/L4
R3 R6/L4 (the / means play them at the same time)
R2 R3 R4 R5 R2 R3 R4 R5
L3 L5 L3 L5/R3
L3 L5/R3
(L3 L5/R3 another time when you're in between verses)

For the big swoopy things towards the end, you can just do the regular verse pattern again. For the ending thingy, I need another few minutes to figure it out...

...the bassline for the end would be:
L1 L3 L4
R2 R4 R5

and the right-hand part is going to take me some time to figure out because it might not be possible, OR might make it a really tricky coordination. I'll get back to you on it.

Okay, I worked out the end, but it's not ideal and probably unplayable - so you have a couple of options. The first option is to do it like I explained up above, which would just be the bassline for the end:
L1 L3 L4
R2 R4 R5

The other option, since the pitch range is limited, combines the both parts into a really ridiculous thing:

R4/L1 R6 L4
R4 R6 L4/L3
R4 R6 L4
R4 R6 L4
R4 R6 L4
R4/R2 R6 L4

oh my goodness ! you are too nice! I can only use my two thumbs, which makes it a little difficult. I figured out the end part, it's just a matter of getting my brain to play two different things on each hand. you are seriously so nice :3

Yeah, the two-thumbs thing is going to make it difficult, but what can you do? At least it's not Swansea...

oh, that reminds me, there was a harpist yesterday at the Renaissance Faire. I was talking to her about Joanna, and she said that she would love to play her songs, if she could. So I plugged JNTP. Thought you'd appreciate that.

The master of my college's wife uses JNTP to play Joanna Newsom songs on her harp, which is 200 years old. She got it when her father's mistress had to flee the country in a hurry and leave it behind.

Ok so I think a lot of people here know that I have a youtube channel where I do a lot of covers (mostly of Joanna Newsom songs), and I wanted to mention that I've entered one of my original songs in a Battle of the Bands competition, the prize of which is to perform at the IndigO2 venue which is part of the O2 in London, so it would be a really amazing opportunity for me. If any people would like to vote for me to win this thing, then here is the link:
And here is the link to the song I've entered:
If anybody here votes then thank you so much! :)
