Anybody else here into metal? I allways have been, even as a small child.
my favorite bands are apocalyptica, faith no more, finntoll, and dethklok.
what do y'all like?

It depends more on the song than the band. I already know that I like some of apocalyptica's music. The others you mention are new to me. I'll see what youtube has, and I'll let you know how I feel about them.

Ok, I listened to a couple by faith no more, and I'm wondering why they are considered metal. Maybe I just listened to the wrong songs. Finntroll I didn't like at all. Just a lot of screaming that I had trouble understanding. Dethklok...I liked the couple that I heard, and there was an interview where they were asked what they thought of Metallica's St Anger album...funny. Speaking of Metallica...I like a lot of their music, and hate a lot of it. Apocalyptica seems to play a lot of Metallica, without the singing. I guess that's one of several things that separate them from other metal bands...no screaming!

faith no more is one of mike patton's many projects. his fist band, mr. Bungle, is more metal-y. avant-garde funk metal, to be specific. dethklok is the band from the television show metalocalypse. i really, really like viking metal, and finntroll is the only one singing in swedish. if you like mr. bungle, try sleepytime gorilla museum. that's metal for intellectuals, and the lead singer is one half of faun fables. i really like emilie autumn's electric violin compositions.

Does the first Blue Cheer album count? Mahavishnu Orchestra's "Meeting of the Spirits" is a kind of metal, isn't it? "Metal" musicians have improved somewhat, but their music drifts more and more toward re-tread to the point of cliche. Apocalyptica? How about Nina Hagen's performance on their "Seemann?!" She will be in SanFrancisco soon to record a new album. Perhaps she'll need a harpist. (What an interesting collaboration that would be!)

I loved Blue Cheer! But, I wouldn't call them a metal band.

ten thousant days from the group Tool, i think it's metal but smooth and, well i saw them after bjork in a festival and it's was magic, deep, into the hottest night, after the violence of sensations due to bjork, cool.
