I take it all back, by the way, this album is awesome. Mutual Core and Dark Matter are my favourites

So much love for Medulla recently, I think it's my favourite Björk album. The Pleasure Is All Mine & Oceania are career bests

Like, Medúlla as a whole is not my favorite, but the coolest songs ever are on that album! Desired Constellation... Vörkuró... Mouth's Cradle

A week ago I was walking through a black market in Amsterdam and there were many underground Björk dvds laying around for a couple of euros I got myself the Medúlla documentary.

So jelly! The recording process for medulla is the most fascinating of all of them, imo. I found it on YouTube but it cut out halfway

I've had The Pleasure Is All Mine completely stuck in my head all day and I kept absent-mindedly doing the 'huhn-uh huhn-uh huhn-uh' throat singing bits on the bus

"I even love ancestors". Dude not EVEN, it is a fucking great song. (As is the pleasure is all mine. I am always wanting to hum along to that song too, but it is such an awkward song to hum along too)

I had this whole thing figured out in high school about how Medulla retells the story of creation from the big bang to human existence, and ancestors is about the animals that came out of the ocean onto land.

Haha I only say 'even' because half the people I know think it's unlistenable. The bit towards the end where Tagaq breaks out of her throat-rhythms into this huge, unrestrained yell is like the emotional centrepiece of the album for me.

I really like Medulla, especially Ancestors is so very Meredith Monk.

I'm totally off Björk these days... but such enthusiasm on Medúlla makes me want to listen to it immediately! Is such a great album, an underrated masterpiece.

I'm so sad she cancelled her show here in Barcelona. It was going to be my 1st time ever seeing her live. Luckily they'll give the money back to those who bought the ticket just to see Björk - I'm one of them, of course.

But anyway, I hope she gets well soon, her health is what matters!

About Biophilia, I don't listen to it very much. I still have the hope that someday it will grow on me in such a way that I consider it a masterpiece, but at present, I find those compositions not-as-good. Concept is fascinating but some songs are weirdly produced (Crystalline, Sacrifice) and others have melodies that I don't like, such as Mutual Core and Thunderbolt. My favorites are Moon, Hollow, Virus & probably Solstice. I like it as a whole, it works, her voice is beautiful, so are the lyrics... still don't love it as I love the previous ones.

I get to see her in July. It's going to be insane! I'll probably get extremely claustrophobic and die, though.

i was really dissapointed by my parisian gig. She was almost perfect but the venue was so mild and convenious. I really miss the punk Björk. Hope yours will be more warm and funny

hollow is fuckingly great

I know you didn't like Crystalline (I personally love it...) but I'm so glad you love Hollow! It's such a difficult tune but I find it absolutely stunning. Are there any other songs from Biophilia that really stick out to you? I'm only asking because I find the whole album completely mesmerizing The imagery of the whole thing appeals to the nature/biology nerd in me

dark matter / sacrifice / mutual core (a hint of Homogenic here) / solstice (i learnt to love it with live session), i like moon for the musical construction but that's all, i really dislike tesla so i struggle to listen to thunderbolt even if i like the melodic lines, icelandic choir is shit, i never understand as a singer how she could work with cheap choir as this one or innuit ones...virus, cosmogony sounds like crappy musical's songs, it really hurts my ears to listen to it, in fact those songs makes me angry

i had a tear during cristalline at the paris gig, with its african pace it really touched me but i still consider the album version really boring
