*to unspoil the hottie of the day thread* i enjoy the canned laughs on famine, have to try this once
actually alex, i dislike animated series, don't know why, i hate cartoons i try some series those times, Big Love is one of my fav, as it's an open door on something really astonishing for me, How to do it in america, love it too, bored to death is an absolute love, try weed and hung but it's quite boring, i never really was into comedy, hate "friends" and so on prerecored laughs comedy like that, and during years i was "BB? no thanks, then one of my ex introduce me to "le coeur a ses raisons" the canadian parodic soap which is masterpiece and ITcrowd i love too
Aw man Milki, you have to give Archer a chance. It's so, so good. And in the second series it's just... ohhh, it's so good. I love it. I live and breathe comedy. If I had an ounce of self esteem I'd be a comedian. As it is I'd love to be a writer/producer, like my idol, Armando Iannucci. Everything he touches turns to gold. Cambridge is a good place to start, I guess. Not with the Footlights, they want you to get up and do a sketch for your audition. But I know a lot of Footlights, I'd love to write, edit and produce for them. Editing is my greatest natural talent, I think. WHich is a shame, because I don't really want to be an editor.
I love telly. I love crime dramas. Bones, all Law and Orders (CI especially, Goren is my boyfriend), and Criminal Minds. I also love good Anime. Like Death Note, Last Exile, One Piece, Hell Girl, Hetalia, Black Butler, D. Gray Man, Honey and Clover, and Corpse Princess. Mad Men is really good too. Everybody tells me I;d love Dexter, but I can;t get over the innacuracy of it. Dexter kills for control,. as he is an High IQ killer. THus, he is a master of manipulation, and has been all his life. As a child, when his Step father manipulated his MO, shaping him into a killer who kills people who deserve to die (Yagami Light did it first.) Even as a child Dexter would have been able to recognise this. His manipulation means that he is not in entire control, which is the largest plot hole I have ever encountered! Dexter has an High IQ. We know he doesn\\\'t kill for comfort. We know he doesn\\\'t rape or torture his victims, so it\\\'s not lust killing. He doesn\\\'t have schizophrenia, so he is not killing to spread a message. This leaves control. IT MAKES ME SO ANGRY!
Of course, I have one aim, the grotesque. If I am not grotesque I am nothing.
mad men is fuckingly good, but dexter bored me since end of 3
@tom bored to death is soooo cute, it's pretty the same ambiance as pushing daisies, with more drugs, sex and loserliness i love it, and i'm deeply in love with jason schwartman, he's so a wonderful actor
I've seen clips of Mad Men and I think I wouldn't like it because it doesn't correspond to what I know to be the reality of the advertising world during that era. Adam Curtis used a clip from it in a blog post about advertising where a psychologist is advising one of the main characters to sell cigarettes by appealling to the Freudian death wish drive. He dismisses it and comes up with the "they're toasted" slogan of Lucky Strikes cigarettes. In the present, though, cigarettes are sold primarily to the death wish. Everyone knows they kill you and the only way to market them is by selling them to groups where it's cool to die young, so the tobacco industry's greatest ally has become the beatnik-biker-punk chain of subcultures, regrettably now commercialised to the point that its present claimants are probably hipsters, who embrance the death wish. "It's cool to smoke" is synonymous with "cigarettes will give you cancer".
My favorite shows are mostly cartoons, I love My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Adventure Time, (Marvelous Misadventures of) Flapjack, Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt, Sheep in the Big City, Powerpuff Girls, and sometimes Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. Eeee, that makes it sound like I have no life.
I don't know, I'm not usually a fan of live-action shows, they seem corny to me. Especially sitcoms with laugh-tracks, anything with a laugh-track makes me want to hang myself.
And he used to make me pray, wearing a mask like a death's head. When he put me there in the back seat, and he said, "Jesus save me, Jesus save me."
I liked Flight of the Conchords when it was on... I watch House sometimes, and Glee regularly (yes, it's stupid and cheesy, but I like it anyway). My all-time favourite sit-com would have to be Corner Gas. I don't think anyone else watched it outside of Canada (or inside of Canada, for that matter).

I think 30 Rock has risen to my favorite, which is unfortunate because I hear it's only got one more season in it. It's so funny, though. I try to mimic Liz Lemon's self-deprecation all the time and it never comes across well. Like I'll make a joke about my life being a mess, or eating a ton, or drinking too much, or just seriously exaggerating a flaw, and later find out that people think I'm being serious.
Arrested Development is a classic. I still watch The Office and I still think it's hilarious, even though it has lost plenty over the years. Erin, though a relatively new character, is one of my favorites. I enjoy Modern Family a lot (has no one mentioned it? It has it's moments of hilarity). Community had an amazing first season, but I think it's been sort of hit-or-miss since then.
It's Always Sunny used to be my absolute favorite. There are some episodes of that show which are so crazily funny. But this past season was odd, and didn't have that same magic.
