Been watching loads of Charlie Kaufman and Richard Linklater films recently. Finished all the Kaufmans, what an absolute genius. I think Adaptation was the best, although obviously Eternal Sunshine is wonderful too. I really adored Waking Life but I was kinda too stoned to take it all in so I'll have to watch it again. And then last night Before Sunrise, I've never seen a film so romantic! I was sitting next to my flatmate and his girlfriend feelin' all jealous.

Milki, I'm really starting to worry about you. First, you hate Scarlett Johannson, and now you can't stand Charlie Kauffman. I just don't know if we have anything in common. Oh! Wait a minute! We have Joanna in common, except that you want to have a lesbian relationship with her. I could never do that...but I could watch. :naughty:

i really liked On The Road, have watched it like 20 times(it is on HBO), it is a very human take of an other worldly situation that could come to pass. Gritty and messy, like real life gets. not all flash and pomp for sure...but then i like those sorta takes on things...like the Arthur legends there are ok takes of it but they are too clean and shiny for my tastes, but there is one(sorry can't remember the name...Excalibur?) that shows the peasants living in mud hovels and everything is pretty drab...it strikes me as a real take on a fantasy story...i like those

@ polli of course it'll be really difficult for you to have a lesbian relationship with JN, and about watching ? actually i need money for my movie, we can start a pornographic musical tadpoles channel and earn money to fix us all.
@ dwain you can see the walter salled version on tv ? it was released one week ago ! D% i regret the book's fever, even if i'm not a kerouac fan. it the same style i prefer into the wild, on the road is just a collection of 60's clichés, and character are really poor, i hardly recognize the main characters, and dean looks so mean in the movie, his more like a bad boy, and we spend 2 and an half just wandering instead of taking the road as an excuse to deal with friendship. and the "messy" things is just done by editing and framing it's a technical based trick instead of write proper dramatical scene which can explain the mess, the youth freedom etc. But of course you have the right to like it ;D i think the legendary "unadaptable" adjectiv is still true for on the road.
i just watch kids from larry clark and there i felt this craziness and the youth mess and no sense of morality.
and of course i can't bear kirsten stewart with her only one bent open mouth expression

just saw this one, it was very cute - well, it didn't have very good dialogue but I love the animation style with the pastel drawings and the little feet and anything with a cat is bound to win me over.
And it was a short one, so it's not like it pretended to have a super-engaging plot.

Just revisited Sofia Coppola's Lost in Translation. Pretty decent if you like a bit of Wong Kar Wai. I blogged about it as it was the first film review I had ever written back in 2004. It can be found .

Just watched Adaptation, loved it. Now my second favorite Nic Cage movie.
