just finished watching the last episode of season 1 of the greatest show ever.
From storytelling to casting to acting to production to locations, no show has come close to the bar Game of Thrones has raised television to.

just got back on the internet after a very long break, so I have some catching up to do!
catching up on Californication and Dexter
about to start Game of Thrones!
will also probably look into Eastbound & Down since everyone always talks about it

as far as film, I have 2 to recommend to everyone. I saw these during SXSW and have spent the last 3 months waiting for a chance to see them again.

Bellflower (http://www.bellflower-themovie.com/film/) - The trailer for this film is brilliant so I won't bother trying to use my little words to describe it, other than it KICKS ASS!

Opens in August in most places that is scheduled to show. You can check the website to see if it is screening near you and when. The site is pretty cool. Also shows the custom-built cameras used.

Another Earth is the other one. Unfortunately the trailer for this is spoiler-ridden. So I can't recommend you watch it. but the film is gorgeous. Go ahead and get used to the name Brit Marling. She is co-writer, co-producer, and leading actor and is breathtaking (she did the same for Sound of My Voice which is currently seeking distribution I believe). Tough to tell much about the plot without some kind of spoilers, but the main reason to see it is its beauty. Maybe you can watch the first 1/2 to 3/4 of the trailer and be all right...but don't watch the whole thing!

Might go see Trollhunter tonight...

"the speech of a king" which makes me speechless :P , it's sooo perfectly well written, each part of the script is amazing, the casting and the wonderful work of lighting and framing of the DP, whaouh, make such a good film about something so tiny it's brilliant

milki, I have been putting off watching that movie for quite a while. I mean, it looks interesting when I read the reviews, but I just had so many other movies I want to watch. After reading what you said about it, I just have to watch it! Thanks for the kick in the butt to make up my mind. lol

haha cool, i hoped wath a "film du dimanche" you know something quite ok but not special and then i was punch with something really special, as i said the photography is particularly amzing and signifiant, the casting is whaouh, colin firth is breathless and the top is that the director succeed in making a 2hours movie with this plot :"a prince is stutteter and have to make a speech"
look at the framing, how colin firth is framing really on borders and petit à petit he's framing centerly! i notice it of course  but it's very delicate. Hope you'll enjoy it as much as i do!

Went out late to see Captain America,
a stereotypical superhero movie (never been a big fan of Marvel) but it was bearable

I saw this on TV ages ago and thought it was great - in a campy way, I guess - and just found it today. It was aired in June 2007, apparently, which would have made me 14 at the time. I was entranced, embarrassed and amused. You'd be forgiven for thinking that the narration is parody. NSFW... (in Brian Sewell's voice) if one's colleagues are a tribe of childish philistines.

The Finland Phenomenon: Inside the World’s Most Surprising School System
:hyper:
I just finished watching the film...and I want to move to Finland! Well, maybe I won't move there, but I am deeply impressed with what I saw. If you haven't already, watch it!

Read more about it in the of the Washington Post.

The Swedes took the religion from us, and then used us as soldiers. I like Swedes, but I think that being part of Sweden wasn't good time for Finland. The order of different eras for Finland ordered by quality is this:
1. As independent 2. As a part of Russia 3. As a part of EU 4. As a part of Sweden. So now you know.

Sopranos.

Already finished The Wire and Battlestar Galactica, I'm out to watch all the best TV in the world. Next up is Breaking Bad, maybe Six Feet Under and Game of Thrones.

But I really can't see anything being better than the Sopranos.

One of my Swedish teachers learned Swedish in Finland, so I was lectured about it to no end.
Also, Empire Records. I love 90s cult comedy so much. But movies like that make me wish I had real friends.
