Having typed a long piece in the "Should I..." thread, spanning several interruptions and 'phone calls, if I'd just hit "Submit", I would have lost the lot through being timed out. Oh and before you lose it, however, there's another hoop to jump through, in aswering an anti-spamming question.
I understand the need for anti-spam, and I suppose it clogs things up if we all stay logged in all the time, but is there no way that some form of safety net can be introduced to allow us to retrieve postings that didn't beat the clock, so we can log in again and send without having to do all that thinking again? It's a failing of other fora, too, not just ours, so - when I remember - I always quickly clipboard anything BEFORE hitting send. But if I forget, it's incredibly frustrating.

Is it not restored if you go back to the form? It is in my browser. I don't know about any of the technical stuff, really - have you seen it on another forum? We could ask Lina if she knows if it can be done, but we'd probably have to find the hack for it anyway.

Yeah unfortunately we have the power of administrators but only in terms of moderating; even if we could implement those sort of changes none of us have any idea how it works. We sent a message to Lina a week or so back but she hasn't replied. When she gets back to me I'll raise this. Sorry we can't be more help Steve.

Oh, I kinda read around that part because I didn't understand it. Yeah, time-outs and spam tests on posts? Really? We can handle the bots that are already around, it's not letting them in in the first place that's most necessary, and I think we've solved that until bot AI is capable of understanding and correctly answering questions.
