Welcome, Tom! I would love to see some of your creative works in the poetry/literature, etc. thread. Good luck with getting into law! Your grammar is excellent, so I'm sure you're a smart one :D !

Thanks a lot :) Is there any particular time of day when this place is busiest? I see great discussions going on all over (and the same names popping up a lot, so I'm assuming the community is pretty small), the average IQ here seems astounding. I've been on forums before where, despite sharing love for music, if you start, god forbid, THINKING ABOUT the stuff, you get a resounding response of "err man lol it just sounds good dun be pretentious". Nobody wants to devalue music by turning into a soulless pool of technicalities, but my goodness, some artists spend years weaving these albums together into their final form, and I wouldn't want to spit on that by simply considering them aesthetically.

I'm ranting now >_> Point is, I hope there is a fair amount of life here, where you can bring up music theory or running threads of imagery and actually enjoy a good conversation.

You are absolutely right about the quality of conversations on here! The community is, indeed, rather tiny. But mighty! As for the best time of day, I really can't say. I can't remember a time when more than three or four of us were on. Maybe I've just been on at the wrong times... I hear you about the general quality of music-related discussions :sure:.

Well there isn't a whole lot of us but we sure know how to dissect music and literature. You'll find the community here pretty willing to talk about whatever kind of art you can throw at us, and we're generally tight enough to work on a first name basis (I'm Tom too ^^)

Welcome

Welcome Tom :) What universities are you applying to, out of interest?

Oxford
Warwick
King's College
Exeter
Sussex

And hi Tom :hyper: If it stops confusion, I find the name Tomfish quite endearing too.

Where is everyone from here? Is there a thread for that, because I haven't seen one. I would assume the majority were American (as the majority of the internet seems to be American), but there seems to be talk about European concerts and all that too.

Good luck with Oxford (and the other ones), which college? I stole a towel from Mansfield. I like how all us British kids are Oxbridge applicants (I believe.).

Of course Bristol is the best.

It could be worse, you could be applying to St. John's College, Cambridge.

Everybody? The are some god-awful people who love Joanna. You might want to re-think your all-inclusiveness and set some reasonable limits. ;D

Oh! Scherado's back! That's good, it was getting to be a bit stale around here recently.
We do remember you. You are stored in our collective data banks. We are legion.
Welcome back.

Thank you Jordan~

I hope that your insouciance (pardon my French, and English) is not something you have taken as--and I hate to write this word--lifestyle?

If things are stale around here, then it means you're not posting as though your life depends upon it!

How long do you think you're going to enjoy the luxury of such complacency?

If we (Americans) don't reverse course beginning this Tuesday--our "mid-term elections", then you Europeans have no hope. You, Jordan~ are riding the last gasps of an incredibly long "peace" and it may drop out from under you in a spectacular and sudden and unpredictable way: That has been the history of Europe. Look around you! Look at France! ENGLAND HAS BLEEPING SHARIA COURTS!!! We Americans have a disabled Executive Branch, THERE ARE NO LIGHTS ON IN THE HOUSE HERE!

Your happy life can be replaced with complete nightmare while you are sleeping; And I'm NOT talking about nuclear war.

If it's "stale around here", then you are contributing to the stink--and I mean that in a kind way.

How have you been? roflmao!!
