Hey admirers of Newsom, Colin here. This is my delayed introduction to Joanna. I visited Brynhyfryd sometime in the middle of April 2006, as part of my quest to set foot in all villages without vowels. I got talking, flirting, you know how it is, with a hot young girl at the bus stop in Swansea city centre. She wore clothes I'd never seen before, and had eyes, hair and physical attributes like you or I could hardly imagine. I threw out my patter - "Know any music superficially associated with the local area, girl?" - and she wafted me in Jo's direction. I am eternally grateful to her. Now married, we barely even listen in the same room any more. What's that all about?

Hi everyone, my name is Riina and I'm from northern Europe (Finland to be exact). I've been reading these forums every now and then for quite some time (even the old forums!) but I tend to be socially awkward at times so it's taken me this long to join. I recently joined another forum for an artist I like and I thought, since Joanna is my absolute favourite artist, it's about time to register here too.

I envy everyone who are able to remember exactly how and when they discovered Joanna's music. I can't remember specifics, all I know is that it was sometime late 2004 or early 2005 when I read about Joanna. I remember being enchanted by her voice and her songs, I thought The Milk-Eyed Mender was something very special and beautiful.

I've seen Joanna live twice, in 2007 at a rock club in Helsinki which was very intimate and where I got to stand right in front of her harp. She had pink eye and we were very lucky that night because she had to cancel the next show. The second time was at a bigger theater with seating in 2010 (also in Helsinki), still very lovely but obviously less intimate.

I love music and I enjoy going to concerts. Some artists I'm really excited to see over the coming couple of months are Björk, Bon Iver, Feist, Leonard Cohen and Van Dyke Parks.

Anyway, I'm happy to be here!

björk will definitely cancel her gig be carefull hope not for you ! i decided to not see her this tour and i'm quite glad allof my friend who bought ticket somewhere in europe had canceled dates...
