Birth name is Yve, pronounced like "Eve" (my parents made it up -.-) and saint name is Ursúla (like the saint, not like the octopus-woman in Disney's Little Mermaid)
And he used to make me pray, wearing a mask like a death's head. When he put me there in the back seat, and he said, "Jesus save me, Jesus save me."
Sara Elizabeth Arujo Carson. Then, upon adoption Sara Elizabeth Carroll Then at camp Ursula Vasa But I like Ursula so much. Much more than Sara. SO I plan on changing it at my 18th birthday.
Rainbow, what is a saint name?
Of course, I have one aim, the grotesque. If I am not grotesque I am nothing.
Saint name's the name of a saint that I was baptized/confirmed with, so basically my middle name, I guess. St. Ursula basically set sail to go to her husband with 10 000 virgins she converted to Christianity then went on this big journey across Europe to the pope and stuff and then all the virgins were beheaded by Huns.
And he used to make me pray, wearing a mask like a death's head. When he put me there in the back seat, and he said, "Jesus save me, Jesus save me."
You can get beatified for that? Wacky adventures that end in massacres? I'd go for St. Sebastian, world's first gay icon. Y'know, because he had... arrows sticking out of him. My middle names are patronyms. Alexander is my dad's name, though he uses his middle name, Graham, and Benjamin is my grandad's name on the other side. If I had been baptised it would have been as a Catholic. My mum's very tenously Catholic. She hasn't been to church in about 40 years, except for weddings, and I don't think she really knows anything about the religion at all - to her, my gran and my aunties, 'Catholicism' means 'We get to see Dad when we die'. He was an atheistic communist. The less they know about the church's actual dogma, the better, I think. My dad was Church of Scotland until he abandoned his faith when I was 8, but even when I was born he didn't want me to be baptised to the point that he insisted against it. Even if I had been baptised, I doubt I'd have been confirmed since I don't think my mum knows that's a thing.
Re Saint's Names / Nordic culture I believe it is the custom in some Nordic areas (I encountered this in Gotland, but I am sure it applies elsewhere) that a person will not only celebrate their bitrhday, but also their "Name Day" once a year. Every day on the calendar is assigned two names - one male and one female - and when your name comes up, you get to receive presents, cakes or whatever. Sounds like a good idea. Unless your name's not on the list of course.
William, after my paternal grandfather, and Carrol, after my Mom's mom. Or was it, after my Dad's dad, and after my maternal grandfather? I'm so confused.
