a friend of mine bring be back usa a biosilk serum, you just take a few drop and it shines, but hey, it's not very healthy as it's full of silicone, don't understand what's called "bio" (organic). And as my hair is colored i used a special grapefruit shampoo which provides moisturazing and shining

even if i pay it only 4€ at a discount shop near my home!

at a time i make my proper hair oil with coco, monoi, avocado oil and few drop of grapefruit, citrus, geranium, ylang ylang cedar essential oil, it's healthy, smells good and a nut is enough to enhance the hair. But i read that coco oil isn't good for dry hair, chestnut or avocado is better. Alas virgin oil and essential oil are expensive on the first time.

I would strongly recommend a product by CHI called Silk Infusion. It is a shine serum made from silk protein and is really good for your hair. When I bleached my hair white, it was probably the only way I still had hair!
But even now that my hair is practically back to being natural, I find it to be way softer and smoother and shinier. I used to feel like my hair was so frizzy all the time before.
It is sort of pricey, but it seems like a bottle lasts forever. I mean, I stole a ton of the mini sample bottles from work ( :lol:

) but one little tiny bottle lasts a pretty long time. I just use about a dime sized drop on wet hair, mostly on the ends. If your hair is more dry or if there is just a lot of it, you'll probably need more, but still. I think the bottles last most people a pretty long time. I believe it also protects somewhat from heat styling, so if you blowdry or iron, it is good to put on first.

But yeah, I was just thinking the other night about how good my hair felt and how it's most likely partly due to this product and it kind of makes me want to marry the product.

i loved henna too and dying with it during more than 10 years buuuuuuuutttt when i wanted to stop red or black and turn back into my baby blonde it takes me 4years to attempt it!!!!!!!!!!!cos henna embrace the hair and stop any inside change, i will never do henna again in my life, too heavy to change :glare:

now i'm using schwartzkof essensity professional colordye, it's quite natural, well, less chemical than other pro color...
becca i will check it, and look if there isn't petroleum inside, perhaps my friend can bring me some from states

Yeah, according to the stylists I work with, Henna is actually really bad for your hair. I can't remember why. It's just interesting, the whole natural vs. unnatural debate--as one of the stylists pointed out, poison ivy is natural. Arsenic is natural. She's usually telling this to clients who come in perplexed as to why a natural product could have damaged their hair.

Ok, I just looked up the henna thing, and this one place (http://www.rediff.com/getahead/2005/sep/19hair.htm) says this:

"Chemicals are generally added to the henna powder available in shops to deepen its colour; these chemicals are much harsher than other colour chemicals. Henna, to which such chemicals have been added, dehydrates the hair, making it dry and brittle.

The chemicals used to deepen the henna's colour is metallic in nature (like some of the cheaper varieties of hair dyes available in the market). It forms a metallic block that does not allow other chemicals to work on the hair. So, if you are considering other chemical changes like highlights/ perming/ straightening, avoid using henna.

If you are really keen on henna, which is a good conditioner in its natural form, use henna leaves. Grind the leaves into a paste at home; the paste should have the consistency of a conditioner. "

Ok, so I don't know if it's TERRIBLE for your hair, but it sounds like it's drying and makes it so you can't have other chemical processes done on your hair.

I use Lush henna, which is pretty much henna and cocoa butter and shiz, no metallic salts added. I naturally have medium-brown-with-red-tints-colour hair, so I can't really see myself being without red for a while. I've gone back to dark brown easily after having it in, just leaves a nice reddy tint in- but I can see how it'd be impossible to get the red out. Not a problem for me, the redder the better

The lush one is a pain to use if you don't make an afternoon out of it, but I enlist a few friends, stick some tunes on, newspaper up the front room, job's a good'un. and it smells laaaavely. and makes my hair all shiny, and most importantly, frickin' bright red. Lasts a hell of a lot longer than chemical dyes, it's cheaper and it's only good for my hair

If you've got the time and the inclination I'd definitely recommend it.

i just made yesterday a "californian shampoo", it lightens one level your hair, very nice but i think today to add some pumpkin gloss...i don't like gold reflects, i prefer copper
hum after the pic, i like this caffé latte color, any advice?i'm scared to cover my californian wave (it cost me 90€ last month to do it and i love it :confused:

i've a melt in light cedar and medium autumn leaf degree, does it darken the hair?

it darkened my hair so much, it was more vibrant before and babyblonde, now it's crappycopper

I'd love to know Joanna's hair regimen. What kind of shampoo/condition she uses and if she cuts off her split ends. And if she takes prenatal vitamins to help it grow faster.

I asked another one of my favorite musicians (Charlotte Martin) and she actually answered me via twitter. She uses Pureology and has beautiful hair.
