Where's the love for Autumn? Man I remember now how I felt a bit sad when Does Not Suffice went out last year, it's happening all over again.

Sorry, Tom - Group 13 was a toss up between The Book Of Right-On and Autumn for my second vote, but it had to go to the one with the line "I killed my dinner with karate".
As I'm a little confused about how people are marking their votes, I should make it clear that the 1s are my most favoured choices, 2s second.

In the future, maybe we should have a contest where we compare similar 'types' of JNew song. It seems to me that it would be more satisfying to choose between, say, On a Good Day/Jackrabbits/Clam, Crab than to compare these songs to the longer compositions like Have One On Me or Kingfisher. I tend to choose the longer songs because I'm awed by their narrative complexity. However, I always feel that the shorter songs are getting short shrift because they are doing something totally different and I love them for their clarity of sentiment. The brevity of a song like On a Good Day intensifies the impact of its theme.
Just an idea. I really like these song contests either way as they get me listening to Joanna in a more intent way.
Hi Headless_Caboose: Thank you for your suggestions ... It's a really interesting idea and one that I will see if I can find a way of incorporating into JNST3. Maybe if there's no practical way to do so, we could have a couple of 'subsidiary' contests running at the same time as the main one, to do exactly as you suggest.
I can also identify with your final comment. I too programmed my thing to play the songs in "group order", so that I would make an up-to-date choice and also to focus my mind on some of the collaborations that I haven't listened to in a long while. It was a great help in chosing a lot of my "2nd place" songs in Round 1, but it's also an enjoyable way to review the harder choices in Round 2.
Finally, I'm afraid I'm having a bit of a manic week, and so I am not going to be able to put up the Round 2 results and Round 3 draw tonight. I sincerely hope it will just be a 24 hour delay, so feel free to vote up to Monday midnight (UK time) if you haven't done so yet.

Don't worry, Milkisobel: I hope you didn't stay up late especially to do it ... I was exhausted last night and have only just got back here to post my own votes. After that, I will add them all up, check back here to see if there have been any real last minute votes, and if not, close the round and post the results ... followed soon after by the draw for Round Three. Which means you have a few minutes left (again, so sorry for the delay at my end).
My votes then:

In Round 1, thirteen songs achieved a maximum score (36, being 2 points from each of the 18 voters), but with the decisions becoming tougher, only one (Sawdust & Diamonds) got a clean sweep of 16 × 2 = 32 points this time round.
Third Round draw follows soon...

I forgot to state at the beginning that this round would consist of five groups of three, but hopefully you guessed that. Once again, please select your first and second choices from each group. The usual rules apply - group winners go forward to the final stage, and the sixth song will be the runner-up receiving the most points excluding songs who have already benefitted from one such 'wild card' (marked *). [I also forgot to mention - though this has not happened in any rounds so far - that if any group produces joint (tied) winners, both songs will progress. This will reduce the number of 'runners'-up wild cards available, but if the number of ties exceeds the number of wild cards available, then the number of songs in the next round will be increased as necessary].
I welcome all feedback and suggestions. One such note that I received was by PM (so I will respect the person's privacy by not giving the name, though it was kind of them to tell me). It notified me that I had overlooked one song, so I am adding it here. As pointed out, it will almost certainly make no difference to the voting, but (a) it satisfies my desire for completeness, and (b) it makes it much less likely that it will be overlooked again next time. The song concerned is Ras Trent by The Lonely Island [LI], on which Joanna sings backing vocals.
