I don't get it. Wouldn't a single release of GIPC make much more sense after she made a video? Or a video for WWHK?
Anyway, I'm going to buy it. Of course. I don't own the Sprout and the bean/WWHK single and I always wanted to so...I'll take this one instead
But I'm desperately hoping for a re-recording, it would be so great to hear that song with her new...let's call it "vocal skills"

Also being reissued in July and also featuring harp is a single song from Joanna Newsom, the b-side to the “Sprout and the Bean” single from way back in the not-particularly-cold-as-we-recall winter of 2004. “What We Have Known” was recorded especially for the occasion and has a “halfway to Ys” vibe to it. Furthermore, because of its six-plus minute length, we couldn’t make a 7” single out of it, making this the first time this song has ever touched vinyl. For the occasion, we commissioned an etched second side of the 12” from Becca Mann, who also designed the cover, and this sweet piece is being sold as a mailorder and direct-store item only.

the yarn and glue version of this song is one of my favorite songs by joanna newsom (according to my play count, it IS my favorite); this one is nice too i guess, but since they are both available, why....?

i dunno why anybody that already has the two recordings is even bothered about which is released, you can still listen to whatever one you want.

I like Yarn and Glue more, but that may just be because it's fair more familiar to me. I don't think Joanna likes her early recordings very much. I adore being able to listen to the changes in her voice though.

I really hope I can get this! I want my Newsom collection to be complete.

Bought my copy yesterday in Paris. I was surprised it was released earlier than expected. There were about 12 copies in the shop.

Couldn't listen to it though as I don't have a vinyl player... Beautiful sleeve!
