I always associate '81 with those summer nights when I'm lying in bed trying to drown out the neighbors' party music with my own. It was the first time I listened to HOOM and it was really humid and '81 was really the first song that grabbed me and stayed with me through the next day.
And he used to make me pray, wearing a mask like a death's head. When he put me there in the back seat, and he said, "Jesus save me, Jesus save me."
81 reminds me of work i was doing at the time, i was using a book reader a lot and i whipped that song on there as soon as it went online, it was the only song on that device and i had it on repeat for a while. it was a good time but its kinda sad now cos things have changed.
i've listened to the other songs too much, but if i ever dig out old live recordings they usually take me back to MEM era, i used to aimlessly walk around with my earphones in to pass the time back then
