Not too relevant, but there is a website called Polyvore where people make collages of clothing and things based on certain people/places/television shows/movies/etc.

There's loads on there and if you see something you like it tells you the price and where you can buy it.

It is important if you're looking for the collages to search "sets" as opposed to the automatic "products" category.

I've spent a good few hours trawling through this website - they have collages for pretty much everything!

Check it out if you don't already use it - it's really cool :)

The byaspringforaspell Tumblr reblogged yet another Joanna clothing find, from the Enchanting Wizard of Rhythm Tumblr .

The shoes seen in this picture

are from Chanel

No idea what season or collection though, but you can find some information here

Those shoes are beautiful. I've been wondering about them for quite some time.

Someone has made a Joanna Newsom Fashion Tumblr

Should be interesting to watch this one, see what treats it provides.

Sorry guys! I was thinking that when I saw it, but then I thought that it must have been one of you guys putting together all of our posts. A lot of it looks like it might have come from the byaspringforaspell Tumblr, so it could be the same person, but perhaps not...

It does suck not to be credited - whenever I find anything on Tumblr I always link to the page and give credit

Well the Tumblr might show some promise with some other stuff, we'll just have to wait and see. Maybe whoever runs it will see these posts and link to the forum.

As a casual admirer of fashion I think that blogger is way too harsh.. Especially considering that most of them are dressing up for a fashion event!

Hey! This is Amanda from http://joannanewsomfashion.tumblr.com/ . Someone asked me a question about this forum and my blog the other which I answered here: http://joannanewsomfashion.tumblr.com/post/18887436886 Sorry if you guys felt dejected or anything because of my tumblr account but I did get my information from either looking through style.com or from simply asking people (these people might have known about this forum, maybe I should have asked them where they got there information).

To Andrew: I am just a casual admirer of fashion! I don't see how I'm being harsh at all. I'm not really judging her clothes or making critiques. I simply started the blog because I saw some of her clothes while looking through a Christopher Kane collection, between that and knowing she likes Rodarte and finding articles online that say what she's wearing, I figured I had enough starting information to start a blog on the topic. I just figured Joanna fans would like to see more pictures of her on their dashboard referencing something you don't need to like her music or be a musician yourself to enjoy: her fashion, various designers she wears, etc. Joanna's a big fan of fashion so I thought it would be cool to show her different clothes throughout the years. Many of the outfits are from fashion events or photo shoots because there's just more information on what she's wearing in those contexts. I know she wears a lot of vintage, so there's not a lot that I could do in that regard especially since most designers' collections on the internet can only go so far.

Again, I'm sorry to anyone who felt cheated by my blog.. I didn't mean any harm! I'm linking everything to this site from now on.

I have to say that I still think that Claire's hard work was ripped off by someone, but whatever, as long as she now makes reference to the forum...

Her dress from day two of ATP is Oscar de la Renta. Not sure what season.

Both that and the Jason Wu dress (which she wore on day one) are available on Net-a-Porter:

They're not the same, but the dress Joanna wore on Portlandia reminds me of this one from Blumarine Fall 2011:

I was reading the interview Joanna did in Lula a couple of years ago and found some interesting tidbits:

About special clothes she likes to wear on stage: "I definitely have a handful of favorites. A Christopher Kane electric-pink velvet dress, a vintage emerald-green Radley silk-jersey gown, a silk crepe vintage Ossie Clark print dress, and, recently, an amazing black dress that the unbelievably lovely Rodarte girls gave me."

We know the pink Christopher Kane dress. The green Radley dress could be what she wore to the Emmys:

Image

Searching live photos from around the time of the interview, I think this may be the Ossie Clark dress she's referring to:

Image

I'm assuming the Rodarte dress she's referring to was custom made for her. At first I thought it might be this:

Image

But on further inspection, I think that was just a top she wore with jeans. The only other black dress she wore in 2010 (as far as I could find) is this one, which doesn't look especially like Rodarte, but who knows!

Image

She also talks about the evolution of her style a little bit: "By the time I made my first album, I basically wore only vintage. But it was all pretty deliberately edited vintage pieces, hoarded for years -- Yves Saint Laurent, Biba, Jean Muir, Holly Harp (the Ossie Clark wouldn’t come till later), and, of course, a closet full of Gunne Sax. This is where I always feel a little weird, talking about clothes, or fashion, because, when I started touring, and had a little income, I started picking up more special pieces, here and there, and I think some people perceive me as having had some drastic change in style, but that wasn’t the case. I just suddenly had a world of costuming options open up to me that I’d never had before, a world to which I’d previously been just a spectator – an avid spectator, like a sports fan who knows all the statistics or whatnot, but a spectator, nonetheless – and I was so excited to finally be able to dress up, to just be near clothes like that."

In the interview she also mentions a few of her favorite collections. Here are links:

Marc Jacobs Spring 2002: http://www.style.com/fashionshows/compl ... TW-MJACOBS

Chloé Fall 2006: http://www.style.com/fashionshows/compl ... 6RTW-CHLOE

Balenciaga Spring 2008: http://www.style.com/fashionshows/compl ... W-BALENCIA

Chanel Spring 2008: http://www.style.com/fashionshows/compl ... RTW-CHANEL

Gucci Fall 2008: http://www.style.com/fashionshows/compl ... 8RTW-GUCCI

Nina Ricci Spring 2009: http://www.style.com/fashionshows/compl ... RTW-NRICCI

Louis Vuitton Spring 2009: http://www.style.com/fashionshows/compl ... W-LVUITTON

Rodarte Fall 2009: http://www.style.com/fashionshows/compl ... TW-RODARTE

Etro Spring 2010: http://www.style.com/fashionshows/compl ... 10RTW-ETRO

She mentions that she owns almost nothing from any of these collections. The only piece I know she has is that star-print top from Chanel Spring '08. Nothing else jumped out at me glancing over them.

And finally, in this picture it says she is wearing a Chris Benz camisole and capelet:

Image

Couldn't find the camisole, though it may have been from a previous collection (all the clothes she wore in this shoot were Spring 2010). Here is the capelet:

Sorry, I couldn't find a full size image of the full length pic. It's on Getty Images so I couldn't link.
