Well, it was probably my comments that actually set it off. It wouldn't be the first time. Anyway, I've found that no amount of explanation seems to help when someone is determined that you need a good talking to. So, sometimes I just keep my mouth shut......sometimes.

Being condescending about somebody trying to gently encourage people to be more thoughtful about the way they discuss women's bodies is not going to endear you to anybody, polliwog.

I have thought for several years that you just don't like me, claire, for reasons which may well be beyond my understanding. It also appears to me that there is nothing I can do about it. So, here we are, you disliking me, and me pretty confused by it. I'll let you have the last say so the thread discussion can get back to Joanna's Clothes.

I can remember going to a pub once wearing a not-too-dissimilar dress and a regular from the pub I worked in at the time spotted me.
"Is that a baby bump I see" he said, with such mirth and excitement at the thought that I may be producing a child.
"No" I replied "I'm just fat."
Queue panic and apologies as his embarrassment went straight to his face, turning it to a lighter shade of scarlet. I instantly felt terrible for my reply, as all I had meant with my comment was that I had eaten a large meal, and I'd bloated to the point of a 3 month term, but how was he supposed to know that? I apologised and he laughed and said:
"It would be lovely if you brought a child into this world."
So it wasn't so bad that he asked me, as sometimes the intentions behind such a comment come from a pure, but sheltered, place. No, I am not saying anyone has the right to comment on someone's appearance, however it is the human condition to do so. Whether it be from admiration or observation, or in some cases from a place of malice I hope we all here do not confess to listen to. Provided the dialogue is opened at a pace and level that both individuals comprehend, misunderstanding can be avoided. But it is always good advice to think before you voice opinions on someone's appearance, intelligence, argument, etc. to try and avoid any misunderstandings altogether.
But onto the clothing...
Yet another great dress from the wardrobe of the News. She's certainly being quite eclectic with her clothing choices this season! Sexy and sultry one moment and cute and demure the next. I vote for airship pirate as her next outfit inspiration, would love to see Joanna rock a Steampunk look.

color me from that sheltered place... as for appearance, the sexyist part of womans body has always been(for me) her mind, what is inside is far more critical when picking a life mate than anything on the exterior

I'm not sure about any of the above outfits. I'd wager that the first and the third are vintage. I did search around a little bit for the floral bustier thing when those pictures first came out, but didn't have any luck. It looks Dolce & Gabbana-esque but I haven't been able to find an exact match.

Also, the dress from the Spirit Awards is Dolce and Gabbana. It's on netaporter.com:
http://www.net-a-porter.com/product/336727It's the same as the Dolce tomato dress she wore before but with a different print:
