I thought this was a joke, but after the link was broken, I did a quick search of google.

Wait, is this really her then? Am I the only one who thinks the voice sounds weird? Have I just gotten too adapted to her new voice? I'm seriously questioning my fanhood right now because of my confusion.

Please remove this immediately. I handle PR for Joanna Newsom and this is 100% NOT Joanna Newsom. That email was not sent from me. It was a fake email address, of which I do not use. A blog notified to let me know they received the email from me... Please remove immediately.

Do we need to remove this thread? None of us uploaded the song, right? It's just linked to here? I think it's fine to link it for reference, yeah? And if it's not Joanna Newsom, no big deal then, we just clarify that it's not her and all is well.

joanna said she hasn't written any new material since HOOM at the sydney concert, and that was only a few weeks ago, so chances are anything that crops up at the moment is fake

I'm angry that I didn't get to hear it, and that jessica the PR person ordered that the link be removed, and additionally that all JNTV, MP3, and any tweets had to be removed. Now, I don't want to ever hear anything by the Starlight Girls, and I think I'll go and join a Lady Gaga forum.

I don't think the link had to be removed. Initially I just posted a warning that it wasn't genuine; Wanbli removed it voluntarily.

late last night, while doing a brief browse of incoming videos of JN for JNTV, this came in from YouTube

As per usual, the first place I spread this news to was here.

I was immediately suspicious, but did see the PitchPerfectPR handle as the YouTube video(which as we can see can be easily faked) IT being April Fool's Day and then a brief lookup on the original artist showed them as an indie Brooklyn band having officially released the song the day before- March 31, 2011 (after this Hoax revelation that date was changed to Feb 11, 2011

The video went up on JNTV, a tweet about it went out.

I went to bed.

This morning, checking this thread I read the post from Jessica, and having dealt with Jessica directly, out of respect for her and for JN, I quickly removed any possible ripples that I may have inadvertently caused by deleting the posts and links. The admins here had nothing to do with that.

With that said - I never hosted anything, shared the MP3 link, etc but I did manage to download a copy, so Polli- if you can promise to not to share it, nor claim it is JN I will get it to you

It would be nice if it was revealed who and why this stunt was pulled - but it got the BAND WHO SHALL NOT BE NAMED a brief moment of attention

I see a couple of the blogs that ran it removed it or updated it as fake
