Joanna's height

I know this is totally a lame, frivolous thing to ask, but does anyone know how tall Joanna actually is? I have a weird personal obsession with figuring out people's heights and I've just been incredibly curious about this for a long time. I've never been face-to-face with her in person so have only guesstimated from full body photos. Thanks!

Well, I know you're looking for an exact answer, but all I have to offer is more guess work.

It is around 6' 2" tall at the column. So um, have a fun time figuring this one out!

For what it's worth, I blew the photo up to a height of 21·4cm, and took some measurements:

The height of the harp column was 20·6cm: it's hard to see exactly where the base is, but it appears to be just about at the very foot of the picture; also, because of the perspective, I made a very slight allowance at the top for the front of the column appearing to be higher than the top, but only very slight.

I then measured Joanna, from her heel (ie, not the floor) to the highest point of her head, and this was 16.8cm. Now, although she is in perfect alignment (her highest point is directly above her heel), it appears that she is leaning back slightly, and thus she might be a fraction higher than as calculated. However, because she is looking down at her hands, her head is tilted downwards, and its shape seems to be such that this slightly increases her height. I've assumed that these two postural factors cancel each other out.

So if the harp is 6'2" = 74 inches = 188 cm tall, and Joanna is 16.8/20.6ths of this height, then this picture implies that her height is 153cm = 64 inches = 5'4".

We should try this on other pictures and take an average!

Just find more pictures of her standing next to a harp, I can identify the model...

Actually anyone with google can. I just want to feel needed. :(

Needed? I wouldn't know about that, but I can say that you are appreciated. Thanks. :)

...:D In that case

, also 188 cm... But ouch, it's thirty one grand.

After looking through 75 pages on Flickr, that's the only semi-decent standing photo I could find. Also, she only seems to ever play on Lyon and Healy harps.

thanks guys for entertaining my inquiry with such gusto! Some day hopefully I'll run into Joanna myself and I can see with my own eyes.

As for the harp, I've read even Joanna herself only has an old student grade of Lyon and Healy. You can pick up two and send one off her way.

Yes, I have a photo next to her in that thread too. I'm 5'6"! She doesn't look that much shorter than me, though...
