Dear Tadpoles.

It has been a few... years since the last updates to the site, but here we are!
I have substituted the site with a new forum version of better caliber. One part of this site is static and one is interactive -- some sections are just for reading, and others, like the Tadpoles section and gigography, can be posted in.

By remaking the site in this format, I can allow dedicated fans to help out keep the sections alive by assigning them as moderators, and thus preventing the site from becoming stagnant when I am away - but I need your help finding the best helpers, so please recommend or volunteer and I will have a look. As a moderator you would help out in the non-forum sections to fill in information, but also to keep an eye on the interactive areas to keep the place nice and fun to hang out in.

Since this a fresh installment, there may be bugs and wonky features -- or there may be some feature you know can be added to the Phpbb3 format that you want me to check out. I made a pretty neutral design for this one, but i can adjust contrasts in it if you feel it is hard to read. Please post suggestions and bugreports here. Or just your general reactions to this new site I hope you like it!

the skin for this one is pretty plain, but i wanted to keep it simple and let the focus fall on contents, however i might design a few extra skins for later!

so get aquainted. the "Today's Posts" button changed name to POTD (posts of the day) and is situated in the top menu.

yeah thank you for take care of your little tadpoles, we hoped so much something new for the new album!

it's all cosmetic, what you miss right? i could see if i can make a skin later that adopts the old look.

you might get used to this sooner than you think though, people are commonly weary of change but if it means benefits of comfort and features it grows on you pretty fast for now, i just did something that suffices so that when the old server goes down, there is something to take over, the big challenge was to make everything work technically, whereas the old one was severely broken in many places. so for now; function over form. but form can have an upswing later

but...please, please, please put the avatars and user info BACK on the left of the post, as is the norm with 99% of Web forums- that is my major dislike in using the forum.

Also did you try to import/move the old threads and data? It really is a shame to not have those posts in this forum at some level- especially for the newcomers

I have stumbled and trudged through more that a few applications recently and I can say that your result is more usable and attractive than all I've seen. This is no small praise as I've spent many an hour hammering out usability issues for computer applications when I used to work for a living <*cough*>.

What is a "Sheesh"?

Hi! Just wanted to say that I used the old site very often as a lyrical reference, but was disappointed when it wasn't updated after the new album came out. I thought "this site's been abandoned, for sure". I am very grateful to see it's still up and running, and in this interactive form. Props to all the work done on it!

What happened to the old forum? Why didn't the posts get transferred to the new one? Sure, I deleted mine, but there were plenty of others that were worth reading again. I'm disappointed.

is there anyway to add a section specifically for NEWS?

everyday i come by here hoping that the new posts are something relevant, and they're just silly threads of rating songs and stuff. which isn't a big deal, people can talk about what they want, especially since there hasn't really been any actual news, people are restless... and there IS some good interpretations and interesting stuff in there, but. i just think it'd be great to have a section specifically for news, so people (me) don't have to fish through threads searching for stuff.

even just a sticky thread, if a regular/mod wants to close a thread and sticky it, and just update the first post or something whenever there's news? is anyone down for that?

Maybe just cause I'm so familiar with the site, I feel like it's clear where there's news. Found on the net is a good place to go, though it may not always have news, it has anything recent posted about Joanna or related to her. Actual news seems to get its own thread, with the titles indicating the news. For example, the new single release, and the upcoming video. Both of those have their own threads, which seems appropriate, especially since the discussion for the video has been a drawn-out and long-winded one.

But I suppose if there's lots of people who come here mainly for news, it'd be irritating to have to wade through everything to figure out what's relevant.

How does everyone else feel? It wouldn't be a big deal to make one, I don't think, but is there any more input regarding this?

meh, is just an idea. in an ideal world, a nice news page with rss feed would rule haha. this is one of the few sites i actually check regularly, mostly cause i have everything else in feeds, and i don't need to check it.... but even a single post of updated news would be nice to check, instead of poking around through different threads each time.
i don't really care either way, it's not a huge complaint or anything, just thought i'd post the suggestion here

OK, well I think we've not exactly been the best formatted for people who aren't regulars, so I think it'd be a good idea. I put together a sticky, but I'd appreciate any advice on it or how to make it better. Does it fit what you were looking for? I aim to please!
