Kinda bummed and surprised we didn't get Emily, especially since she didn't play it the night before either. So we got M & B two nights in a row. But also Go Long two nights in a row!
Set started off amazing. Best I have ever heard her do HOoM. Her voice sounded so clear. Not sure why they had to do GIPC again; I thought they needed to redo Chalk because something weird happened with the mic during that. Didn't seem like the crispest performance all around, to be honest. But I am glad I was there and am looking forward to seeing it again.

I just hope they air the entire set. Sometimes they edit the performances down to fit the broadcast slot.

And, sometimes ACL airs multiple acts during a show, further limiting what we may get to see and hear of her ACL show. What fun!

No chance they will air the entire set, it's only an hour-long show. I would guess they will cut Baby Birch because of "goddamned" and I hope they do because it is goddamned boring! May have to cut another or two. Best we can do is hope the whole performance is released on DVD like they do with some tapings.

They have announced the first 6 broadcasts and Joanna isn't one of them, so the earliest will be late November. But definitely by the end of January.

haha, maybe I'm just tired of her playing it EVERY show. Especially when it has been so long since I have seen her do Emily *sigh* And honestly, compared to all of the other songs on her setlist......
It's obviously a very important song to her though, and a nice choice for an encore (but Emily would be as well!)

What would you guys cut, say if you had to lose 2 songs for the broadcast? Had to. Like if the men came and made you.

Yikes. Eight of the 12 tracks are from HOOM, albeit one is a second take. HOOM came out a year and a half before the taping. Oh well. It's a good thing I like all her songs but I would like to see her play "What We Have Known" given that Drag City issued the special edition release around the same time as the taping. Time budget for the DVD if New West plans a release.

I don't think there are advertisements or breaks during Austin City Limits on PBS. Only at the beginning and end. There's also usually a short interview after the set, or what they show of it.

At the same time Drag City drags its feet by not airing a video for "Good Intentions Paving Company" made months ago, it seems PBS wants to keep Joanna's performance on Austin City Limits on the shelf for some unknown reason. As I stated in the video thread, I think Drag City and PBS and all the ships at sea plan to make another Joanna promotional blitz to coincide with her appearance on the next season of Portlandia.

Is it not airing January 21 for some reason?
